Enrollment

Jane Addams High School enrolls students continuously throughout the school year.  We are an alternative educational setting that is fully accredited by WASC and requires the same A-G coursework as comprehensive high schools for the LAUSD diploma.  What sets us apart is we accept you for who you are and where you are in the process of obtaining your diploma.

 

Students enroll in continuation school for a variety of reasons.  Some have academic or social challenges and do better in a smaller environment.  Some work full time and need a shortened school day.  Some are academically gifted and want to finish school quickly to start college.  We work with you and your individual needs.  With an average class size of 24, we can provide the attention you may need to be successful.  Smaller setting, smaller classes and a safe and nurturing environment afford us the ability to get to know you as an individual and help you realize your goals at your own pace.

 

We offer credit recovery program using online Edgenuity classes from 3-7 pm on Wednesdays to help you catch up.  We also offer college classes on our campus through L.A. Mission College which gives you credit towards both high school graduation and college.

 

Students receive their diploma as soon as they finish the graduation requirements.  We hold graduation ceremonies in June, August and December (both June and December graduation are staged at our very own campus).  Students may also have the option of returning to their home school for the spring semester of their senior year to graduate with their class if they complete the graduation requirements within one semester of the original graduation date.
